History of ALTECH

Foundation and First Steps

In 1992, ALTECH was born in an ordinary garage. The bold vision of Ing. Antonín Machala and his wife, Marie, was to improve the lives of people with disabilities and grant them the freedom of movement. The beginnings were modest—selling ramps and stair climbers, both new and refurbished, but always with reliable batteries. Just two enthusiasts with a big dream. But their determination and passion pushed them beyond the garage walls, toward a future where mobility is not a privilege but a standard.

Cooperation with Lehner Lifttechnik

In 1993, just one year later, we began a partnership with the Austrian company Lehner Lifttechnik, which gave us access to a wider range of quality products and technologies. This collaboration proved to be a key step in our development and helped strengthen our market position.

Expansion and Innovation

The year 1995 marked further expansion for us. With the growing demand for our products, we relocated to new, larger premises on Průmyslová Street in Uherské Hradiště. We expanded our product range to include ceiling hoist systems, an innovative solution that provided greater freedom of movement for people with limited mobility. In the same year, we completed our first installation of a ceiling hoist system for immobile individuals in the city of Zlín, which was a significant milestone and a testament to the growing trust in our products.

We also launched the production of our first OMEGA platform lifts, which became the foundation for our future specialization and success in this area.

Technological Progress

In the following years, we focused intensively on technological development. In 2001, we introduced new technology that allowed us to produce platform lifts of even higher quality in a more efficient way. This progress has been crucial in maintaining our competitiveness while enabling us to offer our customers even better products.

At the same time, we began installing the first stationary ramps, which remain one of the leading products for overcoming barriers today.

Continued Growth

With the ever-increasing demand for our products in both domestic and international markets, we opened a new production plant in 2003. This investment enabled us to meet the needs of our customers while expanding our operations.

Branch: Praha - Chodov

In 2009, we were pleased to open a new branch, expanding our operations to another major location. For more than 15 years, this branch has been a vital part of our network and an important pillar of our success. Its opening marked a significant step in our continued development, helping us to establish an even stronger presence in the region.

Our Own ALPHA Stair Chair Lift

In 2014, we introduced our own ALPHA chair stair lift, designed specifically for the elderly and individuals with limited mobility.

This product enabled us to expand our range and reach a new group of customers seeking a comfortable and safe solution for navigating stairs.

New Platform for Wheelchair Users: STRATOS

Two years later, in 2016, we launched the new STRATOS platform lift for individuals with limited mobility, which succeeded the popular DELTA model.

STRATOS introduced a number of improvements and innovations that further enhanced the comfort and safety of our customers.

Sustainable Development and Global Expansion

In 2018, we became one of the world’s leading manufacturers of platform lifts for wheelchair users. Our products have helped people in more than 100 countries overcome barriers and live more active lives.

We focused on sustainable development and further expansion into the global market. We have continuously innovated and developed new products to meet the growing needs of our customers.

2021: Opening of Demonstration and Training Facilities

In 2021, we took another significant step forward with the opening of our demonstration and training facilities, which are an integral part of our R&D center. These facilities allow our customers to test our products in practice and find the ideal solution for their needs.

They also serve as a training center for our partners and experts who want to learn about the latest technologies and trends in mobility.

Investing in the Future and Caring for Employees

In 2023, we opened a new production hall, which allowed us to increase our production capacity and efficiency. Above the hall, we built a modern canteen for our employees, demonstrating our commitment to creating a pleasant and inspiring work environment.
